HISTORY OF SHADOWLANDS
26-2-1993 Roland Joosten visits his First Houseparty (Hellraiser) in Amsterdam. Amazed by the good atmosphere and enormous crowd he decided to visit more of these events, like Earthquake, Thunderdome, Rave the City, Nightmare in Rotterdam, Ravestorm, Trip to Dreamland etc...
In the meantime Roland was getting more and more interested in the organisation part of the house scene. In august 1994 he came in contact with George of Rige Entertainment and in September he decided to found SHADOWLANDS. Together with George, he throws his first big party, RAVE 1995 at 31-12-1994 in the Geseldonk, Helmond with deejays like Tiesto, Gijsz, Vince, Roos, Darkraver and Tango & Cash !! This party was a great success and sold out !! After this party he decided to expand Shadowlands and started to organize parties every weekend in clubs like Carte Blanche in Weert, Carmen in Someren, Apollo in Helden and some more clubs. July 1th 1995 it was time for his second big rave, MEGA RAVE 6 Indoor/ Outdoor (industrieterrein Hoogeind-Helmond). This Rave was an enormous success. After the Megarave it was time for the TERRORRAVE (18-11-1995) at the 2 Beeren in Beek en Donk and RAVEWORLD (30-03-1996) in the Thialf Stadium-Heerenveen. Finally Roland organized the unforgettable QUEENSDAYRAVE in the Beursgebouw-Eindhoven. All of these parties turned out to be a success, also because of the enormous amount of party people who turned up at every party.
The reputation of Shadowlands was growing bigger and bigger and this is why Roland decided to throw the first SHADOWLANDS RAVE at the 5th of Oktober 1996 in the BEURSGEBOUW-Eindhoven.
This party was sold out with 10.000 party people. The darkside of this first Shadowlands Rave was that Roland had to close his party down by law at 2.30 AM in the morning.
The after party at Carmen in Someren was not the best solution for the problem, but this had no influence for the success of Shadowlands. At 7th of December 1996 SHADOWLANDS RAVE went to one of the biggest indoor location of Holland, Thialf Stadium in Heerenveen. 8000 people followed Shadowlands in one of the most beautiful SHADOWLANDS RAVES ever.
31-12-1996 was the next SHADOWLANDS RAVE at the Beursgebouw in Eindhoven, though what happened before at 5th of Oktober this SHADOWLANDS RAVE was a succes again with more then 8000 party people !!!
1997 and 1998 turned to be also good years for the Shadowlands organisation with succesfull parties in the Beursgebouw (6x), Thialf Stadium, Brabanthallen, Citadel Park in Gent and the Brabanthal in Leuven Belgium.
In 1997 Roland expanded Shadowlands into Europe in countries like Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Spain with great success. Shadowlands was the first and only one who throw a Hardcore party at the LOVE PARADE (11th July 1998 Berlin) also Shadowlands organised during the ENERGY/ STREETPARADE, 7th august 1999 a SHADOWLANDS RAVE in a part of the Hallenstadium, 2 floors filled with Shadowlands Hardcore.
After this it went dark for SHADOWLANDS. A lot of private problems who could not be solved in a short time, Roland had to decide to shut SHADOWLANDS down.

More than 60 parties, about 150.000 party people visited us from 1994 till 1999. The Shadowlands Anthem is still a classic Hit song in the scene. All the flyers designed by Patrick Moerland are now seen as works of Art, Deejays like DJ Vince, Zany, Tango & Cash, JDA, Marcel Woods who started their career at Shadowlands, are now well known Artists booked all over the world. Shadowlands Merchandise wanted by a lot of people, the records of the label, Shadowlands Records are collectors items for many deejays.

THE HISTORY OF SHADOWLANDS TERRORISTS
Roland Joosten is the founder of the Shadowlands DJ Team in February 1995 with the members DJ Vince and Tango & Cash. Vince, Tango & Cash improved their skills very fast and played at all the Shadowlands Parties. This corporation turned out to be very successful. Roland wanted a real Live Act wich would perform on every Shadowlands Rave and also support the Shadowlands feeling on other Events. That made Roland decide on 12th of September 1995 to start with the Shadowlands Terrorists together with DJ Vince. On 18th of November 1995 they made their first big Gig at the Terrorrave in Beek en Donk featuring DJ Vince & MC OP8. Though it was a success Roland and Vince where not satisfied and started to work. MC OP8 left the group, DJ Tango, MC Opiate and MC Syco became the new extra members of the Shadowlands Terrorists. Their first performance in this new formation was at Raveworld 1996 at the Thialf Stadium. An act dark and mysterious with freaky costumes, lots of fire works and beautiful Playmates.
In 1996 the boys take off, Roland and Vince decide to bring some new members into the group, The Shadowraver, Wen-D-Crash and JDA. In this episode of the Shadowlands Terorrists the major classic hit Shadowlands Anthem was born.
After several live acts on different stages in Holland the group decided to take a rest.
In may 1997 DJ Tango, JDA and MC Opiate choose their own path.
Roland and Vince asked MC Madness and DJ Zany to join the group and with the new music, created by DJ Vince and Zany, its party kicking time !!! This episode in our history was the most beautiful and crazy one. With performances at all the Shadowlands Raves this brings them the invitation for the biggest Rave in Europe, ENERGY 1997. They dropped bombs on Zurich like never anyone did before and stole the Hearts of a lot of people. After this moment it went crazy !!! Performances at mostly every Rave in Switzerland, gigs in Holland, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium followed and this didnt stop. Shadowlands Terrorists was there to stay forever and still they are !!!

AREA 2 V.I.P.S. PRIVE. (de beste retro en classics zullen hier gedraaid worden, belangrijk is hier dat de deejays TOTAAL vrij zijn in hun platen keuze in de ruimste zin van het woord. We zullen hierbij dus echt terug in de tijd gaan, door o.a. Paul Elstak en DJ Rob)
AREA 3 SHADOW VALLEY (in het begin Electro en Techhouse waarbij het opgebouwd wordt tot stampende (French) TEKNO, door o.a. Isis en Manu Kenton)
Als megaklapper zal er in onze THUISBASIS, het BEURSGEBOUW in EINDHOVEN, op 12 september, voor de inmiddels 9de keer, een mega SHADOWLANDS RAVE georganiseerd worden.
De voorbereidingen zijn al sinds begin November 2008 in volle gang. Achter de schermen zullen de belangrijkste mensen van vroeger weer deel uit maken van de organisatie. Zoals je kunt zien is Patrick Moerland weer totaal verantwoordelijk voor het design. Ook DJ Tango zal zijn bijdrage weer leveren. Nieuwe input krijgen we van o.a. Skywork Images uit Zwitserland. Willem Kepser en Perry Swinkels zullen voor nieuwe impulsen zorgen omtrent het actualiseren van het SHADOWLANDS concept. Dit alles is samen gesmolten tot de Green Eye Entertainment Group, die ook dan garant staat voor strak georganiseerde SHADOWLANDS evenementen die tot in de puntjes verzorgd zullen zijn.
Ook zullen de vertrouwde deejays van vroeger, die vanaf het eerste moment bij SHADOWLANDS betrokken waren weer van de partij zijn. Onder aanvoering van DJ VINCE zullen DJ TANGO & CASH, ERNESTO en XRAZZ jullie weer onvergetelijke tijden bezorgen. Natuurlijk zullen ook MC SYCO, MC MADNESS en MC D alias Jos Vos zoals vroeger de presentatie verzorgen.
De oude generatie SHADOWLANDS liefhebbers nodigen wij dan ook uit om samen met ons een groot feest te bouwen om daarna definitief de grenzen te sluiten.
Voor de liefhebbers van nu is het een uitgelezen kans om een echt Shadowlands feest te beleven en nu zelf eens te ervaren wat Shadowlands nu eigenlijk inhoud. Er is altijd veel gezegd en geschreven over ons, maar nu is er de kans voor jullie allemaal hier eens deel van uit te mogen maken.
